Frequently asked questions

The basics

What is isna?

An organiser for the whole household: calendar, tasks and lists, documents with deadlines, expenses and budgets, health records, vehicles and contacts — linked to each other and to the people they concern.

Does everyone in the family need an account?

No, and that is deliberate. The app is fully useful with one signed-in user. Everyone else exists as a family member — a record — and gets what they need through an exported calendar, the daily digest, or the tablet in the kitchen.

How many family members can I add?

Unlimited, on every plan. We do not charge per head.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. isna is a web app that installs to the home screen like a real app (PWA) with an offline shell. Native iOS and Android apps are on the roadmap.

Which languages?

English, German and Serbian (Latin), throughout the app, reminder emails included.

Data and privacy

Where is the data kept?

On a server in the EU — in Finland (Hetzner, Helsinki). Files and backups too.

Do you read my documents?

No. There is no tool for browsing family content, we do not train models on your data, and we do not sell it.

Can I export everything?

Yes, in one click, at any time: a ZIP with every record as JSON and every file.

How do I delete my account?

From settings. It asks you to type the household name, then waits seven days, and can be cancelled throughout.

Who can see health records?

Adults only, by default. A teenager on a limited account sees only their own.

Does it connect to my bank?

No, and it never will. Expenses are entered, or come from recurring bills.

Features

Can I see the family calendar on my phone?

A calendar exports as an ICS file, which every calendar app can open, and ICS from another app imports with duplicate detection. A live subscription — a calendar that refreshes itself on the phone — is in progress and sits on the roadmap.

What happens when I change a recurring event?

The app asks whether you mean this occurrence, this and all future ones, or the whole series. All three do exactly what they say.

Does it support multiple currencies?

Yes. Every expense keeps the amount, the currency and the rate on the day it happened, so old reports do not change when rates move.

Can I put a tablet in the kitchen?

Yes. There is a dedicated wall mode: today's schedule, tasks by person and the shopping list, in large type with no navigation.

Are there points and rewards for children?

No. No leaderboards and no comparisons of who did more. The task distribution chart exists, but it is off until you switch it on.

Is there a chat?

No, and there will not be. You already have five apps for talking.

Pricing

How long is the trial?

Thirty days, with full access and no card. After that the account becomes read-only until you subscribe.

What if I stop paying?

The account becomes read-only at the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing is deleted. Everything stays visible and exportable, you simply cannot add to it.

How do I cancel?

From settings, at any time, effective at the end of the paid period.

Technical

What is the largest file?

50 MB per file. If you need more, get in touch.

Which formats do you accept?

PDF, images (JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC), Office documents, plain text and ZIP. Anything else is rejected, based on the file's contents rather than its name.

Is there an API?

The app has a documented REST API that its own frontend uses. Public access for users is on the roadmap.

Can I self-host it?

Not as a published option today.

Start with the one deadline you cannot afford to miss.

Set your family up in two minutes. Thirty days of everything, and it does not ask for a card.
