An app nobody opens helps nobody.
This is the cheapest change of habit in the whole product. An old tablet, a €20 mount, and the family schedule stops being something you look up and becomes something you see in passing.
What it shows
Three panels: today's schedule, tasks grouped by the person they belong to, and the shopping list. Dark background, type readable from three metres, no menus and no navigation.

How it behaves
It refreshes every minute and holds a wake lock on the screen. It is set up per device from the app's settings and remembered on that device — the tablet is in wall mode while the phone you configured it from is not. A tablet that reboots comes back to the wall screen rather than to the app behind it.
The PIN
It guards the exit button only. It is not a password, and the setup screen says so, because pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

Weather is not there yet
It is on the roadmap, as an integration.
Start with the one deadline you cannot afford to miss.
Set your family up in two minutes. Thirty days of everything, and it does not ask for a card.
